History
Total Aquatics Swimming was founded in 2002 by Pedro Altieri Ruiz. We are a local company dedicated to create, implement aquatic programs and safety workshops. Some of the services we provide to the community are: swim lessons, lifeguard courses, CPR, AED and First Aid courses, and prevention strategies workshops. In Total Aquatics we mainly focus on the teaching of not only swimming skills, but also on the confidence in young and adults to develop social and motor skills. Our motto is "Learning to Swim Smiling".
Vision/Mission
Our main goal is to increase the people that know how to swim in Puerto Rico and at the same time decrease drownings in the island.
Methodology
After years of teaching various curriculums from recognized entities, we decided to customize the lessons for our participants. With the help of various swim schools and swim teachers we designed the Total Aquatics Method. The methodolgy was inspired by the works of Philosofer Jean Piaget and his theory in Cognitive Development. The methodolgy is based on a progression of skills designed to develop the brain and the body for a maximization of fine and gross motor skills.
